Iran-Made Mask Prevents Coronavirus over 99%
TEHRAN (FNA)- A knowledge-based company in Iran has produced a special face mask which can distort coronavirus’ activities over 99%.
The researchers of the Iranian company used cotton and silver fibers to produce the masks which can deactivate the coronavirus in 2 to 5 minutes.
The coronavirus has a chance of passing the ordinary cloth masks and entering the respiratory tract, but this chance has decreased to less than one percent in the new Iran-made masks.
Any types of virus, bacteria or fungus will be killed in less than 5 minutes and even if it enters the body, it will not have a negative effect. The virus survives for up to 8 hours on regular masks.
Different knowledge-based companies in Iran have been activated in recent months to produce anti-coronavirus products.
Deputy Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mehdi Sadeqi Niyaraki announced in July that Iran was producing 6.5 million 3-layered and N95 masks per day.
"Until recently the excessive production of N95 masks was exported, but now export of masks has been banned," Sadeqi Niyaraki said.
He underlined that there is no shortage in production of alcohol, nursing protective gowns, disinfectants, and different kinds of detergent inside the country.
"Only 200,000 masks were produced before the outbreak of the coronavirus, which has reached 6.5 million," Sadeqi Niyaraki said, adding, "If the production by volunteers, people, and the Armed Forces are added to the number, it will be much bigger than what is now."
The deputy minister reiterated that now that wearing masks in crowded public places is mandatory, exporting the N95 masks is banned.
