Official: Cyber Defense to Cover Industrial Centers
TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali said the organization has devised a plan to extend cyber defense operations to the Iranian industries that rely on cyberspace.
Jalali said that the body had drawn up a plan to conduct preventive cyber defense operations covering approximately 150 industrial sites, adding that the plan was waiting for an approval by the National Cyberspace Center.
He said infrastructure was being developed to extend civil defense to industrial towns.

“The enemy would now seek to target critical Iranian infrastructure and disrupt their services with an objective of creating popular discontent,” he went to say.“All industrial towns must be equipped with an emergency response plan in case they face a cyber threat,” the official noted.
Jalali also said that guidelines had been prepared for all executive organizations in Iran about their responsibilities and necessary preparations in the area of civil defense.
“All such organizations should launch at least one civil defense drill every year in coordination with the Civil Defense Organization,” he said.
In relevant remarks in late October, Jalali said that Washington which has grown disappointed at military war against Iran is now resorting to attacks against the country’s infrastructures via different means, including cyberattack.
