First Batch of Chinese Vaccine Arrives in Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran received 250,000 doses of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine (Sinopharm) early on Sunday.
The first cargo of the Chinese coronavirus vaccine arrived at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport on Sunday morning.
Iran’s Food and Drug Organization had already authorized the import and use of the Sinopharm vaccine.
In relevant remarks on Saturday, Spokesman of the Organization Kianoush Jahanpour said that 250,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine donated by the Chinese government have been sent to Iran.
“In the first phase, 250,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine donated by China will arrive in Iran,” Jahanpour had said on Monday February 22, adding, “The issuance of conditional permit means that the producer has to inform Iran of the results of clinical studies in regular intervals.”
