Tehran, Moscow Confer on Mutual Cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- High-ranking Iranian and Russian officials in a meeting in Moscow explored avenues to further increase cooperation and discussed the latest regional developments, ahead of the Russian top diplomat's upcoming visit to Tehran.
The meeting was held between Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazzem Jalali and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov on Wednesday before Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's visit to Tehran on April 13.
They examined mutual cooperation between Iran and Russia.
The two sides also discussed important issues related to mutual cooperation, as well as regional and international concerns.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced earlier this week that Lavrov will travel to Tehran on April 13, 2021, at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.
She highlighted that the two sides are supposed to discuss some important international issues, including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The situation in Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, the Persian Gulf, and the region will be reviewed in a meeting between the two sides, Zakharova added.
