Senior MP Hails Iran’s Global Rank in Nanotechnology
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament's First Vice-Speaker Seyed Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi said that the country ranks 4th in the world in the development of nanotechnology, stressing the need for continued progress in this scientific field.
“Iran ranks fourth in the world and above all European countries in the field of nanoscience production. It is very honorable, specially in the conditions of economic war and maximum pressures by the arrogant US government, and this path should be paved stronger than the past by Iranian scientists,” Qazizadeh Hashemi told FNA on Saturday.
He also added that at present nearly 300 knowledge-based companies are active in the field of nanotechnology, noting that they have so far presented over 750 products to the market.
Secretary of Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC) Saeed Sarkar said in March that Iran had exported nanotechnology products to 49 countries.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has exported nanotechnology products to 49 countries in 5 continents,” Sarkar said, adding that in recent years, export plans have developed and Iran has set up an export base for nano products in Asian countries.
“Presently, 725 kinds of nanotechnology products are manufactured in Iran and sent to markets,” Sarkar noted.
He added that China, India, Indonesia, Syria, Turkey and Iraq have imported Iranian nanotechnology products and equipment.
“Besides, Iraq, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan imported Iran-made nano-coated radiators in the past Iranian year,” Sarkar stressed.
Also, in February, Sarkar said that the country enjoys six percent share of the world nanotechnology production.
“The result of trusting Iran’s talented youths in the field of nanotechnology caused the country to have a six percent share of the production in the global arena,” Sarkar said.
“Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution ordered that the budget of INIC should be equal to two percent of investment made by all countries in the field of nanotechnology,” he added.
