Tehran, Brasilia Confer on Expansion of Cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- High-ranking Iranian and Brazilian officials in a meeting on Thursday discussed ways to further boost cooperation between the two countries, specially in trade and economy.
Iranian Ambassador to Brasilia Hossein Qaribi and Chairwoman of Brazil's Senate Foreign Relations and Defense Committee (CRE) Katia Abreu held talks on ways to promote trade exchanges.
The two sides also reviewed the latest situation of bilateral relations.
At the meeting, which was held in Brasilia, Qaribi highlighted the important role that Brazil's Senate can play in developing bilateral ties.
For her part, Abreu underlined her country's readiness to facilitate promotion of cooperation.
The two officials also stressed the necessity of stability in economic relations and increase in trade exchanges.
In a relevant development in July, Qaribi and Speaker of Lower House of National Congress of Brazil Parliament Arthur Lira in a meeting in Brasilia underlined the need to develop bilateral relations in economic and trade fields.
During the meeting, Qaribi and Lira exchanged their views on the outlook of economic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador emphasized the important role of the two countries' parliaments in helping the development and diversification of trade between the two countries.
Speaker of Lower House of National Congress of Brazil Parliament, for his part, placed special emphasis on the status and role of parliaments in the foreign policy field and expressed his readiness to broadening parliamentary ties between the two countries.
The two sides also stressed the need to pave suitable ways for promoting necessary infrastructures and concluding necessary agreements on issues of mutual interest.
