IRGC Commander Emphasizes Iran's Unique Power
TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami underlined Iran’s unparalleled power on the international scene, saying that the Islamic Republic has managed to wear down the enemy.
"The enemy has instead resorted to economic warfare and sanctions against Iran," the IRGC commander said.
General Salami said that the military option against Iran is off the table, as the country has become too powerful to fall victim to foreign aggression.
“The Supreme Leader’s vision was to wear down and undermine the enemy and this craft blocked the enemy’s approach and removed every option from the enemy’s table,” he said while referring to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei's recent remarks.
"The Islamic, Revolutionary Iran of today is powerful and any enemy knows that this territory is not occupiable…and now they have resorted to economic war and sanctions," General Salami added.
In relevant remarks last month, General Salami said that Washington is used to sustaining defeat in its plots against the Iranian nation, and hailed the IRGC Navy for its recent victory by taking back Iran's stolen oil cargo from the US.
The Americans are used to defeats at the hands of the Iranian nation, but, they have yet to learn the lesson well, General Salami said, addressing a rally and commemoration ceremony of the National Day of Fight against Global Arrogance held in front of the former US embassy in Tehran, which is now called the den of spies.
He also spoke about the US hegemonic moves to provoke wars in the world, saying that more than 40 major wars in 40 parts of the world are the outcome of Americans' politics in the world, Salami stressed.
General Salami said that the US has engaged in a war with many countries in Europe, Africa, South America, the Far East, West Asia, and Russia, and added that the US waged wars have left more an 8 million dead in the world.
According to Major General Salami, the US dreamed of dominating the Islamic world so as to dominate the entire world, however, the Islamic Revolution of Iran prevented the Americans' dreams from coming true.
He said that Iran foiled US plots in the region.
"Today we no longer see the US in the center of regional politics and the US allies in the region have lost their trust in the policy of that country," Salami added.
He also pointed to the failure of the US recent attempt to steal an Iranian oil tanker in the strategic Sea of Oman and said the Americans sought to steal the Iranian oil tanker, however, the forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps came to the scene to defend the interests of the Iranian nation.
He said that Iran is the major provider of security to the region, calling on the regional countries to rely on Iran for security rather than foreign powers.
"There is no need to seek help from those who are unable to maintain their own security."
