Deputy FM: Iran-Qatar Enhanced Ties to Ensure Regional Security
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Baqeri Kani underlined that the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Doha will surely strengthen regional stability and security.
Baqeri Kani made the remarks in a meeting with Qatar's Acting Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Hassan Al-Hammadi and Deputy Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs Mohammed Al-Khalifi in Qatari capital of Doha on Tuesday evening.
During the meeting, the two sides called for expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Baqeri Kani referred to the recent trip of Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi to Qatar and also visit of Emir of Qatar to Iran, and said that these visits show determination of leaders of the two countries to diversify and improve joint cooperation.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister reiterated that continuous consultations between the two countries would strengthen stability in the region.
Baqeri Kani, also Iran's top negotiators in the talks on removal of unlawful sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic, thanked Qatar for hosting this round of negotiations on the removal of anti-Iran sanctions.
The Qatari side, for its part, pointed to the commonalities between the two countries and emphasized the need for the growing relations between government of Qatar and Iran in all fields.
Ali Baqeri Kani arrived in Doha on Tuesday for the talks on the removal of anti-Iran sanctions.
Baqeri Kani met and held talks with EU Coordinator for talks Enrique Mora in Doha on Tuesday evening.
