Mossa Kassir: Talebzadeh Made Resistance Media Unbeatable

TEHRAN (FNA)- Mossa Ahmad Kassir, media activist, says pro-Israeli mainstream media is unable to confront the resistance media empowered by the works of the late Iranian media personality.

Speaking in an interview with FNA, Mossa Ahmad Kassir said, “Covering the Islamic resistance was very important, or in other word, even more important than the resistance operation itself; as without such a coverage, it could be claimed that there was no resistance in existence, or it would be purposeless.”

Mossa Ahmad Kassir, also known as Abu Ahmad, is a Lebanese media activist. He cooperated with Nader Talebzadeh for several years in Iran.

Below is the full text of the interview:

Nader Talebzadeh

Q: Nader Talebzadeh was known for his cinematic acumen, as he directed many documentaries and movies. How do you believe his works paved the way for his audience to know more about the truth?

A: I know him from around 1985. Sincerity was the most significant characteristic of Nader Talebzadeh. He was sincere, and devoted himself to his media works aiming to serve Islam and the Islamic Republic inside both Iran and Lebanon. He constantly made efforts to make productions for the resistance media in Iran and Lebanon.

He traveled to Lebanon, visited various places and met with the resistance fighters in Southern Lebanon. He learned how the resistance fighters were not only left without support, but also mistreated by some officials and politicians; this led him to be a faithful supporter of the resistance.

He played a significant role in establishing resistance media and training its staff.

Q: Talebzadeh was a media personality, who never did a terrorist act. Why was he targeted by the US sanctions?

A: He was considered an American by Washington which, in fact, expected him to promote the US policies in this part of the world; not confronting the US policies. On the contrary, he ran TV shows on various TV channels and allowed his programs’ featured guests to express their opposition to the US hegemony and international Zionism. Those TV shows successfully influenced Muslim, Christian and Jewish figures and personalities all around the world, the way they even visited Iran to exchange their anti-Zionist ideas. Learning how the Iranian nation struggled against the Western oppression, they were deeply affected, and spoke for Iran on their return to their home countries. It would make Washington upset, the way that they decided to make obstacles for him, to the extent of his assassination. Let’s not forget Talebzadeh’s production of The Messiah (2007) was another reason the US went extremely angry with him; in addition to produce The Messiah, Talebzadeh met and discussed the movie with the Pope in Vatican, and discussed it with American filmmakers, too. The American statesmen could not tolerate such things; they knew such moves would make the people in the West welcome the religion of Islam.

Q: What is the legacy of Nader Talebzadeh?

A: Talebzadeh played a significant role in founding the resistance media the way that pro-Israeli media cannot counter it. Covering the Islamic resistance was very important, or in other word, even more important than the resistance operation itself; as without such a coverage, it could be claimed that there was no resistance in existence, or it would be purposeless. On the one hand, many Palestinians were deeply affected by the resistance media works, and resisted their own corrupt officials; on the other hand, even people in the occupied lands became aware of the truth and slammed the Israeli cabinet for their lies about the oppressed people of Palestine.
