Firas al-Najim: UK’s Hamas Designation Serving Only War Criminal Israel

TEHRAN (FNA)- Firas al-Najim, Islamic human rights activist, says London is legitimizing Israeli aggression against defenseless Gazans by designating the leading resistance movement as “terrorist”.

Speaking with FNA in an interview, an-Najim said, “The UK also gives the green light to the Zionist regime to launch military assaults against Gaza and the Palestinian Nation in the name of fighting terrorism. These moves only serve the war criminals and occupiers that continue their countless crimes.”

“These moves only show how cruel the UK regime is that are the primary cause of this whole catastrophe by declaring the treacherous Balfour declaration and facilitating the whole invasion and occupation of Palestine”, he added.

Firas al-Najim is an Islamic human rights defender, and Ottawa manager of Canadian Defenders for human rights, a Canadian NGO taking stand against worldwide occurrences of oppression, and running aid support campaigns in Yemen, Palestine, Nigeria, etc.

Below is the full text of the interview:

Q: Why do you think Britain has designated the leading Palestinian resistance movement?

A: The UK’s move to designate Hamas, a legitimate democratically elected party in Palestine, as a terrorist organization at this time is only to divert the public opinion from condemning the Israeli regime and to hold it accountable for the countless amount of war crimes, human rights abuses and its breaches of international laws. This is also a tactic to try to silence all activists in the UK that support military resistance against one of the most militarized occupying regimes and resistance is supposed to be a protected right in the United Nations charter that guarantees any oppressed nation the right to resist. This evil tool is a way to defame and install fear in all the free people fighting for a free Palestine worldwide. The Zionist lobbies have a big hand in these moves and they love to see communities weakened and being investigated by intelligence.

Q: What does the UK’s move mean to Israel?

A: The UK tries to legitimize the occupiers’ control of Palestine and by enlisting the strongest political party in Palestine as a terrorist organization it works to delegitimize the Palestinian nation’s rights, determination and future. Everyone knows that Hamas operates in blockaded Gaza and they do not have much connection to the majority of the world. These moves only show how cruel the UK regime is that are the primary cause of this whole catastrophe by declaring the treacherous Balfour declaration and facilitating the whole invasion and occupation of Palestine. In this move, The UK also gives the green light to the Zionist regime to launch military assaults against Gaza and the Palestinian Nation in the name of fighting terrorism. These moves only serve the war criminals and occupiers that continue their countless crimes.

Q: How do you think the Palestinian resistance will be affected by the UK’s designation of Hamas?

A: Hamas will continue to resist against the occupying regime and they will not recognize Israel as that has been set in their Charter and agenda. The UK will only harm the Palestinian people more by imposing more restrictions to access aid and medical supplies to the people in need. This is a full scale soft war on the oppressed nation but they cannot break the Palestinian nations strong will that is moving towards liberating their holy beautiful land. Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh said on December 2nd that it is time for the Islamic Ummah to settle a historic fight with the Zionist enemy and the Muslim Ummah must create a comprehensive plan to counter Judaization projects and liberate and return the displaced. Haniyeh also outlined three priorities for confronting the Zionist enemy, saying that these priorities include raising the value and status of al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque, supporting the resistance in Palestine, and destroying the project to normalize relations with the Zionist regime.
