Iranian Army's Ground Force Receives New Defense Equipment

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Army's Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari voiced Iran's full-preparedness to confront enemy's threats, and announced that his force has received over 1,000 pieces of new equipment.

Brigadier General Heidari made the remarks on the sidelines of the parade marking Iran's Army Day on Tuesday.

"We have received some 1,084 new pieces of defense equipment," he said.

Referring to the profound changes created in the structure of the Iranian Army over the past few years, General Heidari underlined that the Iranian Army's ground force has evolved into a dynamic force that benefits from new capabilities, including long-range, precision-guided, smart, and network-oriented equipment.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Iran's Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi underscored the Iranian armed forces' full preparedness to confront enemies' all-out threats, and said that his ground forces have developed new technologies and equipment appropriate for any possible present and future wars.

Maj. Gen. Mousavi made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Tehran on Tuesday on the sidelines of a parade to mark National Iran's Army Day.

He said the Iranian Army is equipped with “appropriate weapons and equipment” based on the new technologies required for current wars and with predictions made for possible future wars.

The chief commander of the Iranian Army added that the country's armed forces have in the past sought to just defend the country’s borders with all their might but now they are fully capable of confronting any power that seeks to pose a threat to Tehran, change the balance of power or carry out an act of aggression.

The top commander emphasized that fundamental changes have been made in the Iranian armed forces in many fields such as strategies, tactics, training, and relations.

“Naturally, the threats will also change. We may face more severe threats in the future given the situation in the world. We must prepare ourselves to confront any threat,” Major General Mousavi stressed.

The Iranian Army chief lauded the armed forces’ progress in the ground, sea, air, missile, drone and defense sectors in recent years and noted that 20-year long-term plans have been prepared in the Army to counter all threats.

In remarks on Monday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri hailed the role played by the Army in protecting the country’s territorial integrity in the face of all hostile measures since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

He stated that the striking advances that the Iranian Army has made in various fields of defense and achieving modern and cutting-edge technologies by ground, air, naval and air defense forces have made the Army the flagbearer of the country’s power, deterrence, security and stability.

The Islamic Republic’s military doctrine holds that the country’s armed capability solely serves defensive purposes.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made substantial headway in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the weaponry sphere.

Officials in Iran have repeatedly stressed that the country will not hesitate to boost its military capabilities, including its missile and drone power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiation.

Military officials say the military power of Iran is strong, extraordinary and deterrent despite enemy sanctions and pressures, and hail the country's defense sector for its remarkable developments in the recent decades. They stress that the Iranian Armed Forces’ deterrent power dissuades the United States and Israel from implementing its threats against the country.

Iranian officials have warned that any mistake by the US and Israel will be met with Tehran's crushing and decisive response. They say Washington and Tel Aviv are well aware of Tehran’s capabilities and capacities, and caution that Tehran does not compromise or joke with its national security.

Iran says the Israeli regime is just playing mouth as it lacks the power and needed capability to take real action against Tehran, but, meantime warns that it won't be hesitant to devastate Israel in case of the slightest move by Zionist regime.
