TEHRAN (FNA)- Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani strongly condemned Washington's approval for Israel's "freedom of action" against Tehran's nuclear facilities, and said that Iran considers the US to be responsible for all Israeli terrorist actions against its nuclear program following the confession of White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
The White House National Security Advisor said on Thursday that the United States will recognize Israel’s right for "freedom of action" if Iran tries to obtain nuclear weapons.
In response, Shamkhani described the remarks as confession to Washington’s involvement in Tel Aviv’s sabotage operations against Iranian nuclear sites.
"This admission [by the United States] means that the US has been and will be responsible for all terrorist acts of Zionists against Iran's facilities and people, and should definitely accept its consequences," Shamkhani wrote on Twitter.
Tel Aviv has on numerous occasions sabotaged Iran’s nuclear activities with tactics ranging from cyberattacks to assassinations of the country’s nuclear scientists. It comes as Israel is the Middle East's sole possessor of nuclear weapons, including hundreds of atomic warheads.
Tehran has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of developing nuclear bombs, with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has issued a fatwa declaring that the production, stockpiling and use of nuclear weapons are all haram (religiously banned).

Iranian officials have warned that any mistake by the US and Israel will be met with Tehran's crushing and decisive response. They say Washington and Tel Aviv are well aware of Tehran’s capabilities and capacities, and caution that Tehran does not compromise or joke with its national security.
Iran stressed that the Israeli regime is just playing mouth as it lacks the power and needed capability to take real action against Tehran, and warned that it won't be hesitant to devastate Israel in case of the slightest move by Zionist regime.
Military officials say the military power of Iran is strong, extraordinary and deterrent despite enemy sanctions and pressures, and hail the country's defense sector for its remarkable developments in the recent decades. They stress that the Iranian Armed Forces’ deterrent power dissuades the United States and Israel from implementing its threats against the country.
